Burkart created the movement under the pretense of the founding fathers wanting members of the community to come together for a short time, make decisions on issues of the day, and then return to their work. We shouldn’t be in elected public service for the money.
Now that’s putting your money where your mouth is. I encourage other elected public servants to join me. This movement is independent of party affiliation. It doesn’t matter if you have a D, R, or I after your name. This trancends politics, it’s all about doing good.
Ultimately, it would be powerful to see an annual presentation to charities by those sharing the commitment.
